Ben
is a photographer, specialist journalist, and transport planner
(specialising in 'green' travel
plans). He
studied photography at Derby, England, and graduated with an
Honours Degree (2:1) in 1984. Ben also has a life-long interest in
cycling and the natural environment.
Over the years since, Ben has accumulated a library of cycling and landscape images and has become known for his 'trade-mark' inspirational photos of cycle-touring in wild landscapes.
He has also contributed hundreds of features to Cycling Plus magazine, amongst other publications, covering leisure cycling, travel, product reviews and technical subjects. He is the author and photographer of several books including Bicycle Maintenance (publisher: Crowood Press), Ride Your Bike - The West Country and The Racing Bike Book (co-author, publisher: both Haynes Publishing).
Ben has a love of the wilderness areas of Europe, in particular Iceland.
